Waxing 101

1.    After shaving, how long do I need to wait before I am able to wax?

For optimum waxing results, it is best to allow your hair to grow for 2-3 week. Hair needs to be ¼ to ½ an inch to wax. The end result leaves your skin smooth, soft, & hair free!

2.  How long will the results last and how often should I be waxed?

On average results last from 3 to 5 weeks depending on your hair growth rate, which varies based on the individual. During the summer months you may notice an increase in hair growth due to the fact that heat stimulates hair growth! Every 4-6 weeks is recomended for regular waxing appointments.

3.      Is waxing painful?

There is some discomfort with waxing, however, clients agree that the discomfort of the actual wax itself isn’t nearly as bad as they had originally anticipated. Waxing gets easier with every appointment provided that you have not shaved in between waxing appointment. Follow all of the Tips To Make Waxing Hurt Less

4.      Anxiety about the bikini waxing procedure?

Rest easy! We specialize in the art of waxing! We do them all day, every day, therefore we have seen it all, waxed it all, & heard it all & nothing makes us happier than being able to put our clients worries to ease!

5.      Are there any medications, products, or medical conditions that could prevent me from getting waxed?

Yes! Please thoroughly review the information listed & be sure to list any of the following on your medical history intake form. ***To ensure the safety of your skin, please let me know if you are taking any of the following medications.*** WARNING: If you are currently using any of the following prescription medications, you cannot receive a waxing service. You must discontinue use of these medications for a minimum of three (3) months prior to waxing. The exception is Accutane; you must be off this medication.

  1.  I got waxed once before and came up with little white pimples afterwards. What caused this to happen?

After waxing, skin pores are open making skin prone to infection. Avoid touching3 freshly waxed skin as it may cause irritation or small pimples to break out. To keep your freshly waxed skin free from infection: Avoid hot tubs, pools, and saunas for 24 hours after waxing. Loose clothing should be worn after bikini waxing to avoid irritation of skin & ingrown hairs. Apply products that have anti-bacterial properties to freshly waxed areas over the next 3 days.

  1.   Can I still get waxed if I have genital herpes ?

Yes, but make sure your esthetician knows as it could affect the outcome of the service. If a client does have herpes and has the medicine at home, they can take it the day of waxing & it usually will prevent an outbreak. Even though this is rare, it can still happen.
